Plastic without impact
Plastic without impact
Our solution is simple: a trash bin called the R-Box. It is a safe bacteria growing box in which PET plastic is disintegrated. It's easy to use: all you need to do is put your plastic waste in it and it will decompose without any human interaction necessary.
But the R-Box is not just a trash bin. To allow a recently discovered bacteria to feed itself with plastic, we had to build a heating system. And of course, our trash is connected by wifi, so you can receive feedback on your R-Box from anywhere in the world.
In 2016, the researcher Shosuke Yoshida realized that plastic was disappearing in a landfill in Japan. He discovered that Ideonella Sakaiensis bacteria were responsible for this phenomenon. They secrete an enzyme called PETase that transforms PET plastic (25% of the world's plastic production) into elements necessary for the growth of the bacteria.
Our R-Box simplifies the 450 years degrading process of plastic.
Once your bacterias have grown, all of your plastic waste dissapears in under a day!
Our system doesn't require complex machines or transportation by trucks to a recycling center.
Our bacterias are living beings, so they biodegrade naturally. Therefore, no waste is produced!
Help us keep our planet clean.
A good idea requires a good team.
